DeliveryRank supports innovative companies in AgriFood sector, sharing their innovation with the public. We spoke with Katarina Todorovic about Carbominer’s technology, mission, and the values shaping our work. In this conversation, we reflected on the personal and societal motivations behind our venture, and how our roots influence the way we approach challenges.
—
What personal or societal motivation drives your team to take on the global challenge of carbon removal?

The story of Carbominer stems from a desire to change the world for the better for future generations. Most of our team members are parents, so the motivation is deeply personal.
We come from Ukraine, a country that understands what it means to fight for its future. Our nation’s heroic yet tragic history has taught us to rely on ourselves. Therefore, when we see a global problem, we don’t wait for someone else to solve it – we build solutions ourselves.
How does your technology differ from other carbon capture solutions currently available, and what makes it more efficient or scalable?
We designed our DAC system to be modular, compact, and easy to scale. Each module operates autonomously and is controlled remotely. The system is installed directly at the point of CO₂ use near target greenhouses, eliminating transportation costs in the CO₂ supply chain. What makes our technology truly competitive is the combination of on-site production, an affordable energy source, and regenerative components.
