The Boot Camp training took place on July 23-24, in which the participants of the Carbominer project participated. In total, only 12 teams have been selected for this stage.
What is this competition?
The Climate Launchpad is the largest international competition for environmental initiatives since 2014. The program is organized by the Climate-KIC European Climate Innovation Initiative and Greencubator, which is partner and organizer of the national stage in Ukraine since 2016.
55 countries from all over the world are taking part in the competition this year.
Three teams that will win the national stage of the competition will represent Ukraine at the Global Grand Final on November 14-15 in Amsterdam, among many other participants.
What is a Boot Camp?
Boot Camp is a two-days intensive training under the supervision of a mentor from Climate-KIC, the organizer of the competition. It is in bootcamp that teams learn to evaluate their ideas in terms of real business.
The secret to the success of any learning process is a bright mentor who not only shares experience but also energizes participants to create change. This year, Ron Bloemers, one of the founders of the ClimateLaunchpad, Climate-KIC mentor and founder of the business accelerator for cleantech startups Start-U-up (The Netherlands), became a mentor at the Kyiv bootcamp.
How was it?
The two days of bootcamp were very busy, with the Carbominer team learning a lot about self-presentation, pitching features and building a business model for a green startup.
Organisers asked the most remarkable participants to leave a feedback on bootcamp. This is what Nick Oseiko, founder of Carbominer, said:
“Participation in bootcamp exceeded our expectations. I want to thank the Greencubator team for the class organization. I will note separately the participation of an extra-class mentor. I think all the teams will agree with me that Ron Bloomers’ involvement is a significant advantage of this bootcamp.”
After a two-day bootcamp, participants will receive 6 follow-up meetings to find leads and test hypotheses. The CLP national competition finals will take place on September 21 in Ivano-Frankivsk. The final is scheduled for November 14-15 in Amsterdam.
